A poignant city in the economic revolution, Manchester has kept much of its historic charm, with plenty of contemporary touches built into its infrastructure. You can start off within the uber-cool Northern Quarter, dipping out and in of independent shops and eateries, before working your way towards one in all the various cultural hubs the town has to supply.

You can spot ancient Egyptian artifacts at Manchester Museum or try the newest exhibits on the Science and Industry Museum. The city’s tram system makes getting around extremely easy.

The Roman city of Bath is a must to your bucket list. History buffs will like it here, because it’s full of historic streets steeped in history and has the unique baths that date back to 70AD still intact. On top of this, you’ll be able to browse infinite independent shops and boutiques, gawping up on the spectacular architecture as you go. Pulteney Bridge is a picture-perfect stop to gaze over the River Avon.

Then, when you fancy taking inspiration from our Roman ancestors, you’ll be able to follow suit by taking a visit to the Therma Bath Spa and bathing within the mineral-rich, naturally warm waters.

Underrated UK Cities to Visit – Eastbourne

Too often hiding within the shadow of Brighton, Eastbourne is an excellent spot to go to. It guarantees all of the seaside charm you can want, with fish and chip shops, arcades, and beaches with a mix of pebbles and sand to sit back and loosen up on.

For a spot of culture, head to Towner Eastbourne, an award-winning art museum with exhibits by the likes of David Hockney and a cinema. The nearby South Downs National Park offers swathes of glorious countryside to explore. If you would like to profit from a sunny day, you’ll be able to tackle the favored Eastbourne and Beachy Head circular walk, which can have you rambling along Britain’s tallest chalk-white cliff.
