THE COST of jetting off abroad has seen eye-watering price hikes recently, but there are some hotspots which are CHEAPER than they were post pandemic.
Across many countries the cost of going on holiday is getting more expensive with air travel being heavily affected.

A large proportion of flight routes have become pricier since the coronavirus pandemic, but several European destinations have bucked the trend.
Experts at Skyscanner have revealed that flights to Brussels, Madeira and Sofia are cheaper compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Back in December 2019, flights to the Portuguese Island of Madeira cost £342 for a return ticket.
Now, these tickets can be nabbed for as little as £59.
The price drops even lower in January with return flights costing £39 compared to £90 in January, 2020.
A return trip to the Belgium capital of Brussels now costs £77, which is a 13 per cent drop on travel before the Coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, air travel to Sofia in Bulgaria can be scooped up for as little as £61 – equating to an 18 per cent drop in previous prices.
For example, in 2019, a three-night stay, including flights, to Sofia cost £251.55 with EasyJet Holidays or £205 with Love Holidays.
Naomi Hahn, Vice President of strategy at Skyscanner said: “It is clear that we’re hungrier than ever to discover something new – even though we might have less in our pockets next year.
“The aftermath of a pandemic has made travellers look for ways to make up for lost time and create new experiences and memories.
“Consumers have become savvier to value post pandemic – the squeeze on personal spending has shown that consumers will still prioritise getting away but are increasingly shopping around on metasearch platforms like Skyscanner and employing simple travel hacks to ensure they get the most for their money, like being flexible in terms of dates and destination.
“The year looks set to be a year of new discoveries as emerging, pocket friendly destinations come to the fore.”
Finance experts at CashLady.com also revealed the five best value for money holiday destinations – and Turkey comes out on top.
Five years ago, £1 would fetch 4.54 Turkish lira, but now Brits can expect to get 21.5 Turkish lira for £1.
This makes Turkey a whopping 375 per cent cheaper to visit compared to 2017.
A trip to Brazil is 53 per cent cheaper than five years ago – instead of four Brazillian Real to the pound, you can expect to get six.
