NASSAU, BAHAMAS — In a video address to industry stakeholders at The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s (BHTA) annual general meeting, Prime Minister Philip Davis yesterday urged hotel and tourism stakeholders to invest in the refurbishment and enhancement of their properties, in addition to finding innovative ways to add value to their offerings.

In a video address to industry stakeholders at The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s (BHTA) annual general meeting, Davis revealed the government will vigorously pursue a number of infrastructural investments across the country in the coming year and beyond.

He revealed that plans include the redevelopment of airports on several major islands, roads works in New Providence and the family islands as well as the construction of hospitals and other essential medical facilities.

The Ministry of Tourism, Aviation and Investments is projected to continue its global sales and marketing missions in key markets in North America, the United Kingdom, Latin American and the Middle East, in an effort to ink new business partnerships and increase inbound travel to this destination.

Davis noted that tourism officials will also seek to leverage increased global travel demand to forge new airline partnerships and increase airlift capacity to The Bahamas.
