Dubrovnik, Croatia (total score 9.26) was identified as the best city in the world for honeymooning couples offering an unmatched value for money with over 200 romantic activities and a reasonable average price of €126 for a double hotel room.
Unsurprisingly, Mykonos was named the second best honeymoon destination in the world – the island has a lot to offer to newlyweds, while having some reasonably priced options for accommodation, earning a total Honeymoon Destination score of 8.81.
Prague made it to the top ten offering honeymooners an unparalleled 498 romantic activities, with hotel room prices starting at €102.
Florence can offer 470 romantic restaurants – more than any other location in the rating.
Often regarded as one of the most picturesque destinations for a romantic getaway, Abu Dhabi in fact turns out to be one of the weakest options for a honeymoon, based on the amount of bars, restaurants, activities and hotel cost. It earns a total score of only 1.76 in this rating.
Top travel location Los Angeles ranks as one of the worst honeymoon destinations (1.76 total score) according to hotel cost and couples activities. A double hotel room in LA for one night costs around €294 on average, making it one of the priciest honeymoon spots in the rating. The city features only 6.34 romantic restaurants and 6.16 romantic things to do for every 100,000 residents.
Melbourne (total score 1.76) has 5.31 options for romantic activities, 0.28 romantic bars and 3.52 romantic restaurants per 100,000 people, while an overnight stay costs on average €156 for a double room.
