As the local Covid-19 situation appears to be calming down, the Philippines’ domestic tourism market is more likely to help the industry recover. From months of lockdown and with travel restrictions being gradually lifted by the government, domestic travelers are slowly making a comeback and traveling again during weekends and holidays.

To many travelers, however, health and safety precautions are still valid concerns. In response, the government continues to impose the minimum health standards, in cooperation with the local government units (LGUs) and the tourism industry, reassuring travelers of their safety.

No less than Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat advises travelers that safety measures are still strictly observed and enforced by the department and the LGUs. “Travel in the Philippines is safe, and as we always promised, more fun,” says Secretary Romulo.

Since the government’s decision to ease alert levels, followed suit by local government units (LGUs) that relaxed their own protocols and further opened their borders, visitors are steadily gaining confidence, and once again, booking tours and planning vacations trips.

In this atmosphere of renewed interest and rising demand to travel, the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) proudly presents and unveils the PTAA 29th Travel Tour Expo & 7th International Travel Trade Expo at the SMX Convention Center Manila on June 24-26, 2022.
