When it comes to local tourist destinations, Chester County has something to offer for locals and visitors alike, writes Eric Henderson for Philly Bite Magazine.
One of the most popular sites in the county is Longwood Gardens. This thousand acres of gardens, woodlands, meadows, fountains with amazing light shows, and other features is located in Kennett Square making it an ideal place to spend a few hours or even an entire day.
Meanwhile, the Gables at Chadds Ford offers an upscale décor and menu with a contemporary take on traditional American cuisine. The place is an ideal location for corporate events, weddings, and many other gatherings.
The Brandywine River Museum of Art in Chadds Ford is a museum of American and regional art. Among its most notable exhibits is the collection of Andrew Wyeth’s paintings. The museum also has works painted by Wyeth’s father, N.C., and his son, Jamie.
Kennett Square, the Mushroom Capital of the World, is also among the must-visit Chester County destinations. Its main drag, State Street, is filled with an eclectic mix of unique shops that feature everything from handmade jewelry to rare books and novelty mushroom items.
