TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Aceh Jaya Regency Government (Pemkab) plans to develop ten leading tourist destinations to improve the local community’s economy.
“The selection of these leading destinations refers to several indicators that have been determined,” said Juanda, the Head of the Aceh Jaya Regency Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth and Sports agency in Calang, Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Juanda explained several things that serve as an evaluation of a tourist destination, namely the composition of the management, the condition of the destination, the selling value of the destination, community support and the timeframe.
Furthermore, several things must exist in a tourist destination, such as tour guides, tour package service, destinations, facilities, road access and internet access.
For that reason, Juanda party held a Group Discussion Forum with the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) to support them in managing tourist destinations.
“Aceh Jaya Regency has a lot of potential resources that are still untapped or not properly processed, especially in the tourism sector, considering the sector is a source of income that can make a very good contribution to village (Gampong) autonomy,” he said.
Acting Regent of Aceh Jaya, Nurdin, said that the district he leads has many tourist destinations with various advantages and disadvantages.
According to him, building an economy in the tourism sector requires four things to be considered: increasing production, improving products and actors, and linking them with the market.
“So far, we have not been able to reach the market, thus the development is being hampered. Therefore, we have to consider and comprehend in regards to the business scheme, we could ask for financing from banks and other sources of funding, so that these tourist destinations can develop independently,” said Nurdin.
