AKRON, Ohio – Akron’s Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory has been named a Top Haunted Attraction for 2022 by the Haunted Attraction Association, the official group in the haunt industry.
The Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory were one of 49 attractions throughout the U.S. to receive the designation. To be considered, attractions must be a member of the Haunted Attraction Association and meet criteria designed to protect customers, promote haunted attractions and educate industry experts, according to the association website.
“The most important aspect of our jobs is prioritizing visitor safety,” Haunted Attraction Association President Spencer Terry said in a news release. “The Top Haunts certification rewards those attractions that have been in operation for at least 10 years and are not only leaders in delivering some of the best attractions in the business, but also in setting the bar high for best practices in safety.”
This year is the 49th season for the Haunted Schoolhouse and the 42nd year for the Haunted Laboratory. This year’s attractions promise new scenes, more scares and exceptional detail, according to the Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory website. The attractions are not recommended for children under age 12 and no strollers or young children are permitted to be carried through the shows.
To purchase tickets for the attractions, visit the Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory website. The attractions open for the season Sept. 23.
