Fly one-way for less than $20! Frontier Airlines is launching a major fare sale, but with very specific criteria.

$19 Fares

Frontier Airlines is putting a million seats on sale, starting at $19 one-way. To get these deals, you have to book before August 1 and you have to book at least 7 days in advance of travel. Travel is valid between August 2 and October 5, with blackout dates on August 31, September 3, and Labor Day weekend (September 6 and 7).

Sale Specifics

The sale is valid for domestic travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, but here’s where the sale gets a little tricky. Travel to and from certain destinations is limited on days you can fly in and out. For example, you must travel from Las Vegas Tuesday through Friday to get sales prices, but you can only travel to Las Vegas Sunday through Wednesday. This is true for 12 destinations in total. This includes:

Again, you will need to travel from these cities on Tuesday through Friday and to these cities Sunday through Wednesday.

Frontier Airlines says it’s launching the sale to help with recent skyrocketing airline prices. “Frontier Airlines is offering an inflation-busting blockbuster fare sale,” says Frontier Senior Vice President Daniel Shurz. “When fares are this cheap, they won’t last long so grab them while you can.”

Busted Merger

The fare sale news comes as merger efforts between Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines come to an end. Earlier this week, Spirit shareholders rejected Frontier’s bid to buy the airline. Spirit and Frontier had initially agreed to merge in February 2022, but shortly after, JetBlue Airways came in with its own bid to buy Spirit.

While Spirit initially preferred a merger with Frontier, JetBlue has raised its purchase price three times and is now $1 billion over Frontier’s latest bid. Frontier Airlines now says it will not raise its bid any higher, paving the way for JetBlue to purchase Spirit.

“While we are disappointed that we had to terminate our proposed merger with Frontier, we are proud of the dedicated work of our team members on the transaction over the past many months,” said Ted Christie, president and CEO of Spirit Airlines, in a statement. “Moving forward, the Spirit Board of Directors will continue our ongoing discussions with JetBlue as we pursue the best path forward for Spirit and our stockholders.”
