As the only organization dedicated to advancing indigenous tourism across the United States, the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) recognized the best of Indian Country travel and tourism at its annual Excellence in Tourism Industry Awards ceremony. The AIANTA award ceremony was during the American Indian Tourism Conference at Harrah’s Resort, Southern California from October 24 to October 27th.

This year, Akwesasne Travel was awarded Tribal Destination of the Year at the 2022 AIANTA conference.

Akwesasne Travel remarked, “We are incredibly honored to receive this year’s “AIANTA – Tribal Destination of the Year” award. We are so honored to share and celebrate the stories of our people and our home. We are resilient. We are indigenous. We are here. Our journey is just beginning. “
