Commercial property company 42Floors conducted a study which found the top 20 cultural destinations for those who are working from home in 2022.

They were able to do this by first assessing the 50 largest metro areas in the nation and evaluating them against eight key indicators: establishments; establishments per 100,000 metro residents; cultural tours; film festivals; musical festivals; libraries; employment; and coworking spaces.

The data 42Floors was able to glean determined the Philadelphia was the ninth overall top cultural travel destination for remote workers.

“Outside of hard work, both permanent and temporary Philadelphia residents have much to explore and enjoy,” reads the study. “In fact, Philly recently took new steps in its quest to become a 24-hour city: The local Department of Commerce now includes a night-time economy director who used to co-chair the city’s Arts and Culture Task Force and is a connoisseur of the region’s diverse cultural experience.”

The study continues to elaborate how Philly, “also scored fifth for library lovers; was home to the fifth-largest local arts and culture workforce; and landed in eight for availability of cultural establishments.”

The top five cultural destinations were, in ascending order: San Francisco, Calif.; Miami, Fla.; Chicago, Ill.; Los Angeles, Calif.; and New York, N.Y.
