It appears that the tourism industry in Newfoundland and Labrador is on the rebound.
With travel restrictions being lifted, people are looking to catch up on the travelling they have missed. Some folks choose this province as their destination.
Roseann Brake is the general manager of Deer Lake Holiday Inn Express. Brake says this year has been particularly busy for the Holiday Inn.
Brake said that they are a month ahead of their peak season and that it usually takes until the end of June to be fully occupied. She says things picked up overnight.
Although things look bright for her business, Brake still faces pandemic-related challenges in staffing.
Brake says that it is a global issue and they need to find ways to attract people back to their industry.
