The thought of traveling far and wide after two years of sticking close to home is exciting—but deciding what destinations and attractions to visit first can quickly become overwhelming; there’s just so much out there to explore and get reacquainted with again.
Interestingly, a new study from travel booking website Next Vacay has just revealed the top ‘bucket list’ experiences for 2022 based on the most-watched travel attractions and destinations on TikTok. According to the study, searches for ‘travel TikTok videos’ have ballooned by over 350 percent over the past year as younger millennial and Gen Z travelers prepare to pack their bags once again and decide on where that first peri-pandemic trip will bring them.
The destinations and attractions span all over the world—from the US to the UAE—but they all have one thing in common: they’re extremely social media-friendly and visually appealing. Here are the top five destinations based on TikTok appeal:
5. Grand Canyon, Arizona

Looking for a breathtaking getaway that’s close to home? The Grand Canyon is poised to be one of the most popular destinations of the year with over 273.2 million views on TikTok. The impressive natural wonder receives over 5 million visitors each year hoping to catch a glimpse of its majestic beauty.
4. Taj Mahal, Agra, India

The historic Taj Mahal in Agra, India has become a must-visit landmark for tourists visiting India. The famous monument sees over 8 million visitors annually and has garnered over 377.4 million TikTok views and counting.
3. Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

Perhaps the most recognizable landmark in the world, the Eiffel Tower in Paris garnered third place with 719.6 million TikTok views. Built in 1887, the Parisian landmark currently sees over 7 million visitors each year.
2. Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE

With an impressive 1.9 billion views on TikTok, the Burj Khalifa on the Dubai skyline takes second place. The Burj Khalifa remains the World’s Tallest Building at 828 meters and has held the title since 2010.

The number one attraction according to TikTok? Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The ‘happiest place on Earth’ has garnered over 8.6 billion views on TikTok and, according to Next Vacay, the best time to visit is during the winter months as the weather cools down and crowds start to thin out.
