After the signing of the CHT Peace Accord in 1997, tourism in Rangamati was considered and discussed as the most promising sector. Even with the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of tourists visited this piece of beauty to find solace in the narrow valleys, light forests, and glistering waterfalls.

Kaptai Lake
The hill district of Rangamati has Asia’s largest artificial lake, Kaptai. The blue waters of this lake can bewitch any tourist. Thousands of visitors travel to Rangamati every year in the winter season only to relish the spellbinding beauty of this lake. The Hanging Bridge of Rangamati
The hanging bridge of Rangamati is the main attraction among the tourists who come here. This vibrant multi-coloured suspension bridge creates a strong connection between two isolated mountains. The vibrations created while crossing the bridge give the visitors a different perspective. People can enjoy the scenic beauty of Kaptai Lake while crossing the bridge. However, even after 38 years, the motels and the bridge have not been renovated. The old worn-out swings and rides for children have remained the same.

Shuvolong Waterfalls
Mountain and adventure lovers always choose Shuvolong Waterfalls. The proximity of mountains and lakes creates a different feeling among tourists. However, the only problem is that the waterfall does not have much water during the winter season and the authorities do not intend to keep this waterfall alive throughout the year.
DC Bungalow Park
The DC Bungalow is one of the most popular tourist destinations during the evenings. People can enjoy the picturesque view of Kaptai Lake while visiting the DC Bungalow Park. There are swings and playgrounds for children as well.
Police Polwel Park
Polwel Park and Cottage is a modern, elegant, and secure luxury resort beside the lake. It is a new addition under the supervision of the Rangamati District Police. Tourists flock to this park from different parts of the country, including Rangamati. This park has rides for children, a mini hanging bridge, and several newly-built cottages along the banks of Kaptai Lake.
