Shing Mun War Relics Trail

This trail accommodates in its wake, remnants of the darkest a part of human history; World War II. Located on the northern side of Smuggler’s Route, it has a myriad of trenches that were dug by the British to defend against the Japanese invasion during wartime. The tunnels are aptly named after London streets, almost certainly a method of giving a comforting feeling to the soldiers during their darkest hours. Ping Shan Heritage Trail

Established in 1993, it’s a comparatively short trail of about 1.6 km, but along it lies immense cultural value. The route follows the villages of the Tang Clan, an ancient settlement from the twelfth Century. Visitors can observe the traditional Tsui Shing Lau Pagoda and the fortified village of Sheung Cheung Wai, a good looking glimpse into the past.

Lung Yeuk Tau Heritage Trail

This trail spans 2.6km and was opened in 1999, with the name Lung Yeuk inherited from a legend a couple of dragon leaping across the neighbouring mountains. The trail is surrounded by many ancient Chinese buildings since it is between the Five Wais (walled villages) and Six Tsuens (villages).
