Let me ask you this if you could go anywhere and someone else would foot the bill, where would you go?
We asked Montanans that very question and it was really rather interesting to see their responses. First, Montanans seem to like the idea of traveling abroad. Many of the folks said that they would love to have a vacation in another country.
Europe was a popular choice, in fact, many Montanans said that places like Germany, Ireland, and Scotland would be at the top of their lists when it comes to travel. For some, the reason behind those destinations resulted in family heritage and to see where they come from. That was certainly the motivation when my wife and I visited Germany and the Czech a few years ago.
Others decided that they would love to go to someplace warm with beaches and water. Fiji and Australia were popular choices when it came to the more sun and fun destinations.
What about here in the United States? Certainly, there are places here in the states that Montanans want to visit, right?
By far the two most popular choices in the United States that Montanans would love to vacation in are Alaska and Hawaii. Of course, the 49th and 50th states have been popular places to visit and explore for many years now.

While, I’ve never had a big urge to visit Hawaii, going to Alaska is on my bucket list when it comes to travel. Don’t get me wrong, if someone said “Hey, I have an extra ticket do you want to go to Hawaii?” I wouldn’t say no. However, there just seems something adventurous about Alaska that I think would make for a wonderful trip.
Interestingly enough, out of all the places that were mentioned, as of this writing, not one Montanan said California. The things that make you go hmmm.
