NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) – Many already consider New Orleans a top foodie city, and one recent ranking agrees.
Tripadvisor, the digital travel platform, released its annual Travelers’ Choice ‘Best of the Best’ rankings with New Orleans grabbing the top spot for best food destination in the U.S.
The awards honor travelers’ favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, things to do, and beyond, based on the reviews and opinions collected from travelers and diners around the world on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period. Best of the Best award winners are among the top 1% of listings on Tripadvisor, distinguishing them as travelers’ favorites for 2023.
The list featured 15 cities making the cut for notable local cuisine. Other top destinations in the ranking include Charleston, South Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Savannah, Georgia; San Francisco, New York, Miami and Seattle.
The website says part of New Orleans’ appeal is “the city’s distinct blend of cultures—including Creole and Cajun.”
