Salisbury has been named in a recent study into the top 10 family-friendly travel destinations in the UK.

The criteria included family attractions, weather, affordability, safety, and restaurants that were welcoming to families.

Salisbury made it to number 7 on the list.

The top place went to Edinburgh with eight natural areas and parks per 100,000 people and 12.23% of attractions suitable for children.

For child-friendly restaurants, they were awarded 7.56% and the average hotel price at £105.

Overall, Edinburgh scored 6.33 out of 10.

By comparison, Salisbury had two natural areas and parks per 100,000 people and scored 1.15% on attractions for children.

Child-friendly restaurants were recorded at 0.58% and the average price for a hotel was £115.

The overall score for Salisbury was 4.80 out of 10 and Salisbury was placed above Brighton and Belfast.
